· The S&P 500 Index is back up to its 50-day simple moving average and is 1.5% higher today. The VIX Index is also higher by just over 1% today, currently at 26.75.

· The October and November VIX futures spread continues to widen. October traded at a premium to November for several months, but the spread moved in November’s favor back in early September.

· The October 28/26 VIX futures spread traded 10,000 times for $0.80. October is a five-week cycle and the standard VIX futures and options will expire on October 21.

· Coming up this week: the first presidential debate is tomorrow night, Q3 comes to a close on Wednesday and the monthly nonfarm payroll data comes out on Friday.
