Cboe Global Markets Reports November 2020 Trading Volume
Cboe Global Markets™ reported November 2020 trading volume on December 3, which included several highlights. Each of Cboe’s four options exchanges saw an increase in ADV compared to a year ago, including an ADV increase of 122 percent on Cboe EDGX™ Options Exchange. Additionally, Cboe C2™ Options Exchange set a new monthly ADV record with 1,035,338 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1,033,882 contracts set in February 2020.
Cboe Advances ETP Market Leadership, Becomes 2nd Largest Primary Listings Exchange in the U.S.
At the beginning of December, Cboe announced it had advanced its market leadership to become the 2nd largest primary listings venue for exchange-traded products (ETPs) in the U.S., following record gains in new listings this year. Cboe has captured 35 percent of all new product launches in the market, making Cboe BZX™ Equities Exchange home to more than 400 ETPs in the U.S., representing approximately $370 billion in total assets under management from more than 50 unique issuers (as of December 2, 2020).
Cboe Global Markets Announces Planned Retirement of Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Appoints Successor
Carol Kennedy, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, plans to retire on December 31, 2020, after 27 years of service to the company. Cboe plans to promote Stacie Fleming, current Vice President, Marketing and Communications, and former Head of Marketing and Communications for Cboe Europe, to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, effective January 1, 2021.
Cboe Global Markets Announces Date of Fourth-Quarter 2020 Earnings Release and Conference Call
Cboe Global Markets will announce its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2020 before the market opens on Friday, February 5, 2021. A conference call with remarks by the company’s senior management will begin at 7:30 a.m. Central Time (CT), 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time (ET).
Cboe Global Markets and CoinRoutes Enter Exclusive Licensing Agreement for CoinRoutes RealPrice™ Cryptocurrency Market Data
Cboe recently signed an exclusive licensing agreement with CoinRoutes to disseminate its market data and create potential derived data and analytics products using its RealPrice data. CoinRoutes, a trading software firm based in New York, provides a suite of algorithmic trading tools for digital assets, FX and derivatives. Under the agreement, Cboe has exclusive rights to use CoinRoutes RealPrice data to create digital asset indices and to offer custom index creation and calculations to Cboe clients.
Cboe Becomes Primary Listing Exchange for ProShares Volatility ETFs
The full suite of ProShares Volatility ETFs successfully transferred to Cboe BZX Exchange from NYSE Arca on Wednesday, December 16. ProShares Volatility ETFs are designed to offer exposure to the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Index and the S&P 500 VIX Mid-Term Futures Index, as well as leveraged and inverse exposure to the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Index.
Cboe Options Exchange to List Mini-Russell 2000 Index Options in First Quarter 2021
Cboe plans to launch trading in Mini-Russell 2000® Index options on Cboe Options Exchange in the first quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory review. With the planned addition of new mini options on the Russell 2000 Index, Cboe expands its offerings of smaller-sized, tradable index products that help enable market participants to gain more efficient and cost-effective exposure to the broad U.S. equity market. The planned launch also underscores Cboe’s longstanding relationship with FTSE Russell, building upon its successful franchise of index-based, cash-settled options tied to the FTSE Russell global indices.

Cboe Lists for Trading Four Active Non-Transparent ETFs from Invesco
Cboe recently listed for trading four active non-transparent ETFs from Invesco Ltd. Unlike traditional exchange-traded funds (ETFs) which disclose portfolio holdings on a daily basis, semi-transparent ETFs, also referred to as “non-transparent” ETFs, allow asset managers to deliver their actively managed investment strategies in an ETF vehicle, without the disclosure requirements of traditional ETFs. These ETFs typically enable asset managers to take advantage of the liquidity and tax-advantage benefits of the ETF structure, while keeping their strategy hidden to protect shareholders.
